Read Seedance 2.5’s duration and token pricing.
ByteDance Seedance 2.5 generates clips from four to thirty seconds at 24fps, up to 1080p in 10-bit, and accepts up to fifty reference assets in a single call. It is priced per token rather than per second or per credit, which is the part that makes cost estimation different from every other video model in this directory.
Capabilities, specifications and prices on this page come from ByteDance’s own Seedance 2.5 announcement and Volcano Ark’s documentation. Rates are set by the vendor and change without notice. The gallery below carries four stills ByteDance published with the model: each is the poster frame of a sample clip on ByteDance’s own page, and each caption quotes the prompt ByteDance wrote for that clip.
What Seedance 2.5 generates
Four stills ByteDance published with Seedance 2.5, each the poster frame of a sample clip on the model’s own page. They are stills because ByteDance ships its examples as video files; every caption below quotes the prompt ByteDance wrote for that clip.

How ByteDance describes Seedance 2.5
Seedance is ByteDance’s video line, and 2.5 was published on 31 July 2026. It is marketed around one-take creation and flexible referencing, and the specification sheet behind those phrases is more specific than the slogan suggests.
Thirty seconds in one take
Clips run from four to thirty seconds, with a single segment reaching thirty and up to two extensions available beyond that. For narrative work the thirty-second single take is the headline number, because most models in this directory are still measured in five- and ten-second units.
24fps at three resolutions
480p and 720p are 8-bit; 1080p is 10-bit. The frame rate is 24fps across all three, which is a cinema cadence rather than the 30fps many generators default to — it matters if footage has to cut against a 24fps timeline.
Six aspect ratios
21:9, 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, 3:4 and 9:16. The set covers anamorphic widescreen and vertical delivery as well as the conventional frames, which is unusual: most models ship 16:9 and 9:16 and stop there.
Fifty reference assets in one call
Up to thirty images, ten videos and ten audio clips — fifty assets in total — can be supplied with a single generation. That is the “flexible referencing” claim made concrete, and it is the capability with the biggest effect on how you prepare inputs.
Token pricing, and a 4K line that does not exist yet
Seedance is billed per token rather than per second. The published rates are ¥70 per million tokens for 480p and 720p without video input, ¥42 with, and ¥77 / ¥46 for 1080p, with resource packs at ¥210 for five million tokens, ¥420 for ten million and ¥4,200 for a hundred million. Note that 4K appears on the Seedance 2.0 row of ByteDance’s own material, not on 2.5.
What ByteDance documents
ByteDance publishes durations, resolutions, aspect ratios and prices with unusual precision, and publishes no technical report for 2.5 — so architecture claims cannot be checked against a paper, only against the product documentation.
Four to thirty seconds
A single generation can run to thirty seconds, with two extensions available on top. The duration is documented alongside the resolution options rather than as a separate tier.
1080p in 10-bit
480p and 720p are 8-bit; 1080p is 10-bit. All three run at 24fps. The 10-bit path is the one worth specifying if the output has to survive colour work.
Six aspect ratios
21:9, 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, 3:4 and 9:16 — anamorphic through to vertical, which is a wider frame menu than most of the category offers.
Up to fifty reference assets
Thirty images, ten videos and ten audio clips per call. The mix is documented, so you can budget a sequence around how many stills and how much source footage each generation needs.
Delivered through ByteDance’s own products
Seedance 2.5 is reached through Dreamina, Doubao, Coze and Xiaoyunque, and through Volcano Ark’s API under the model id doubao-seedance-2-5-260628.
Priced per token
Rates are published per million tokens and differ by resolution and by whether video is supplied as input. That makes cost a function of the material you send, not just of the duration you request.

OpenSeedance 2.5 FAQ
How long can Seedance 2.5 clips be?
Four to thirty seconds, with a single segment reaching thirty and up to two extensions available beyond that. The range is stated in ByteDance’s own material.
What resolution and frame rate does it output?
480p and 720p in 8-bit, or 1080p in 10-bit, all at 24fps. The 10-bit path applies to 1080p only.
Can Seedance 2.5 generate 4K?
Not on 2.5. 4K appears on the Seedance 2.0 row of ByteDance’s own material, not on the 2.5 row, so claims of 4K output from 2.5 are not supported by the vendor’s documentation.
How many reference assets can I supply?
Up to fifty per call: thirty images, ten videos and ten audio clips. That mixture is what ByteDance means by flexible referencing.
How is Seedance priced?
Per token, not per second. ByteDance publishes ¥70 per million tokens for 480p and 720p without video input and ¥42 with it, and ¥77 / ¥46 for 1080p, plus resource packs at ¥210, ¥420 and ¥4,200 for five, ten and a hundred million tokens.
Where can I use Seedance 2.5?
Through ByteDance’s own products — Dreamina, Doubao, Coze and Xiaoyunque — or through Volcano Ark’s API, where the model id is doubao-seedance-2-5-260628.
