What Adobe Firefly Video generates, and what it costs.

Adobe Firefly Video generates fixed five-second clips at 24 frames a second, in 540p, 720p or 1080p, and charges for them by the second of output. It carries no version number, which is why it is the one video entry in this directory with an empty version label — Adobe has never shipped it as a numbered model.

What it is

How Adobe describes Firefly Video

Firefly Video is sold the same way Firefly Image is: on the provenance of its training data and the safety of its output for commercial work, rather than on resolution or clip duration. The specification sheet reflects those priorities.

Five seconds, fixed

A generation produces a five-second clip. Where other models offer a duration setting, Adobe’s Generate Video flow documents one length — so a longer sequence is built by generating successive clips.

24 frames a second

The default cadence is 24fps, which matters if the result has to intercut with footage shot at cinema rates rather than with 30fps screen content.

Credits by resolution and second

Adobe prices generation per second of output and by resolution: 20 credits a second at 540p, 50 at 720p and 100 at 1080p. A five-second 1080p clip therefore costs 500 credits, which is where the plan tiers start to matter.

Trained on licensed content, not on user content

Adobe states that the model is trained on licensed content and public-domain material and explicitly that it is not trained on Adobe user content. That second half of the sentence is the one customers ask about, and it is Adobe’s own wording.

Indemnification for eligible enterprises

Adobe extended IP indemnification to eligible enterprise customers on 24 April 2025. The terms exclude non-Adobe models and features still in beta, so the scope has to be read rather than assumed.

What Adobe documents

Adobe’s Generate Video documentation is specific about length, resolution and credit cost, and specific too about the limits: this is a short-clip generator, not a long-form one.

Text to a five-second clip

The documented flow turns a prompt into a five-second video. Length is not a parameter the documentation presents as configurable.

Three resolutions

540p, 720p and 1080p, at 20, 50 and 100 credits per second of output respectively. The 1080p path is the one that consumes a plan’s allowance quickly.

24fps output

Adobe’s default frame rate for generated video is 24fps. That is documented behaviour, not an inference from example footage.

Commercially safe training data

Licensed content and public-domain material, and explicitly not Adobe user content. For teams that need to be able to state where the training data came from, this is the product’s main feature.

IP indemnification on enterprise terms

Available since 24 April 2025 to eligible enterprise customers, excluding non-Adobe models and beta features. Ask Adobe about eligibility rather than assuming the standard Firefly terms apply.

No published version number

Adobe markets this as “Firefly Video” or “Adobe Firefly Video Model”. There is no version to quote, and any “Firefly Video 5.0” you encounter is not an Adobe designation.

Five seconds. Adobe’s Generate Video documentation presents one clip length rather than a configurable duration, so longer sequences are assembled from successive generations.

What resolution does Firefly Video output?
