Adobe prices Firefly twice over. There is a subscription with a tier name, and there is a monthly pool of generative credits, and the pool decides how much you can actually make.

Reading only the tier name tells you almost nothing about the second part. The Adobe Firefly Image hub keeps the model line behind those credits in one place.

The plans Adobe names

Four tiers carry the Firefly name for individuals. Adobe’s credits FAQ lists what each one includes every month.

PlanMonthly generative credits
Firefly Standard2,000 for premium generations, unlimited standard generations
Firefly Pro4,000 for premium generations, unlimited standard generations
Firefly Pro Plus10,000 for premium generations, unlimited standard generations
Firefly Premium50,000 for premium generations, unlimited standard generations

Three of those four prices appear in Adobe’s own prose. Its announcement names Firefly Standard at US$9.99 a month, Firefly Pro at US$19.99 and Firefly Premium at US$199.99. Firefly Pro Plus is named on the checkout page and in the credits FAQ, but its amount did not render on any page read for this article.

The credit add-on tiers

Alongside the named tiers sits a second family, sold purely as credits.

Credit planPrice per month
2,000 CreditsUS$9.99
7,000 CreditsUS$29.99
10,000 CreditsUS$49.99
50,000 CreditsUS$199.99

The coupons 10,000 and 50,000 appear in both families, which is exactly why the two get merged into one table elsewhere. They are separate purchases: a credit plan adds credits, a Firefly plan adds credits plus the applications that come with the tier. Adobe’s credits page describes these add-on tiers in terms of video minutes, which belongs to the Firefly video topic.

The plans for teams

Adobe also sells Firefly Pro, Firefly Pro Plus and Firefly Premium for teams, with monthly generative AI credits of 4,000, 10,000 and 50,000 respectively, according to its overview page. Teams plans sit outside the first-year offer described below.

The first year is a different product

The same subscription buys different amounts in year one and year two, and that gap is a promotion rather than a tier feature.

Adobe’s special offer page lists it for individual plans for Firefly Pro, Firefly Pro Plus, Firefly Premium, and the 4,000, 7,000, 10,000 and 50,000 credit tiers. Teams and Enterprise plans are not included.

The year begins on the date you start the eligible plan and runs for 12 consecutive months, after which all users return to consuming credits. Adobe adds that credits vary by model and resolution.

The offer works exclusively on firefly.adobe.com and in the Firefly mobile app, so desktop applications are outside it. Adobe reserves the right to modify, limit or discontinue any aspect of it, and the model list can change.

Worked example: what one Firefly Image 5 image costs

Run the prompt

Adobe

Adobe’s own example of an instruction-style prompt is short and concrete.

change the time of day to sunset

The documented path runs through Photoshop (Beta): select the whole canvas, click Generative Fill, pick Firefly Image 5 (Preview) in the model picker, type the instruction and generate. Adobe’s community post states the result plainly — one variation is returned in the properties panel.

Price it in credits

Now attach a number to that one variation. Adobe’s credits FAQ puts Firefly Image 5 at 10 credits per generation, and Firefly Image 4 Ultra at 20 credits per generation for one image per generation.

Dividing the monthly allowances by that rate makes the tiers comparable.

PlanMonthly creditsFirefly Image 5 generations per month
Firefly Standard2,000200
Firefly Pro4,000400
Firefly Pro Plus10,0001,000
Firefly Premium50,0005,000

The left two columns are Adobe’s, the third is our division of them, and it assumes every credit goes to Firefly Image 5, which no real month does. Firefly Image 4 and Firefly Image 3 are standard features with unlimited access, so they cost nothing extra. Picking the model is covered in the Adobe Firefly guide.

Credits reset, they do not accumulate

Two rules bound every number above.

Adobe states that generative credits do not roll over to the next month, and that the balance resets to your allocated amount monthly. For paid subscriptions, credits renew monthly on the billing date on which you started the plan.

When the pool runs dry, Adobe offers two options: wait until the credits reset, or buy additional credits with a Firefly plan or a credit add-on plan. There is no third path, and an unused month is gone.

Pro, Pro Plus or Premium

The tier names say which applications arrive with the credits, not only how many.

Adobe’s announcement states that Firefly Pro and Firefly Premium include access to Photoshop on web and mobile, plus unlimited canvases and the growing library of partner models. The checkout page for Firefly Pro Plus states 10,000 credits plus Photoshop on web and mobile and Adobe Express Premium.

So the paid ladder reads as Standard for the Firefly app, Pro for credits plus Photoshop on the web, Pro Plus for a far larger pool with Express Premium, and Premium for the largest pool. Only the money column ranks them unambiguously, and one of its four cells is missing above.

Anything the code path needs is a separate conversation with its own limits, covered in the Firefly API guide.

What Adobe has not published

The comparison page holds the answers and does not serve them. Adobe draws its tier table and its pricing FAQ in the browser, so every attempt made for this article returned only the heading, a promotional line and the audience tabs.

Firefly Pro Plus therefore has no quotable amount here, and neither does the 4,000 Credits add-on tier.

There is no published price per image for Firefly Image 5 and no prompt success rate. Video is priced by the second on the same FAQ, and that belongs to the Firefly video topic.

Where Adobe does state a price, it does so in prose, and those are the three amounts quoted above. Prices move with promotions, so treat any figure without a reading date as stale, including ours.
