Yes, PixVerse is free to start, but “free” happens twice: a web route through a registered account with daily free credits, and a Free membership tier on the API platform with its own concurrency limit. The two wallets stay apart, and free credits on one side say nothing about the other.

Two free tiers, and why they are not interchangeable

The API platform’s subscription guide states it twice, in bold: API memberships are separate from PixVerse Web (app.pixverse.ai) Membership, and API credits cannot be used with the PixVerse Web. One account opens both doors, but the money sits in separate wallets; PixVerse’s own comparison writing calls a web subscription and an API project different products. So “is PixVerse free” has to be asked twice, and the PixVerse hub lists the models both routes reach.

The web free path: an account with daily credits

PixVerse describes the consumer route in its own words: PixVerse provides a free starting path through registered accounts and daily free credits. The same page adds the limit that matters, that this is not unlimited free compute, and points to where the real number lives: The exact balance, campaign bonuses, and eligible models can vary by account, region, and product route, so check the credit balance shown in the app before generating.

That is the honest answer. PixVerse confirms a free path exists and is topped up daily, and declines to publish the amount because it varies. Third-party pages that print a firm daily figure are quoting their own reading of the app, and they disagree with each other.

The API free tier: three concurrent requests, no published balance

The API platform has a Free tier of its own, documented in the rate-limit table rather than the pricing table:

MembershipFreeEssentialScaleBusiness
Concurrent requests3152025

Free comes first, ahead of the paid memberships, and three simultaneous generating tasks is what it gets. What it does not get, on any page we could open, is a published credit grant: the pricing table starts at Essential. The balance endpoint shows why that matters, returning credit_monthly for membership credits that reset monthly and credit_package for credits bought in packages — different pots.

Free credits you can earn on purpose

The one route PixVerse prices precisely is its creator campaign, which pays credits for publishing work made with the tool:

Your qualifying postWeekly reward
Clips and Shorts1,000 credits
Clips and Shorts with 1,000+ likes5,000 credits
Clips and Shorts with 10,000+ likes15,000 credits
2-minute+ video6,000 credits
2-minute+ video with 1,000+ likes11,000 credits
2-minute+ video with 10,000+ likes21,000 credits

Two rules matter: Standard weekly credit rewards are capped at 100,000 bonus credits per creator per week, and Approved campaign credit rewards do not expire unless PixVerse states otherwise. Eligibility is spelled out too: public at review time, PixVerse contributing at least 30% of the work, a @PixVerse tag or clear attribution, and submission through the weekly form before Sunday, 23:59 UTC.

Where free stops

Free credits and free use differ, and the two ledgers answer differently. The web terms, operated by AIVORA PTE. LTD., limit outputs: Your use of the Outputs is limited to non-commercial purposes unless you obtain separate authorization or a commercial-use license from the relevant rights holders. The API platform terms, operated by MOTIVAI PRIVATE LIMITED, invert that in one line: Users' use of AI-generated content for commercial purposes is not restricted.

Two smaller limits come with the free route. The web service is for people aged 16 and over, and refunds are partial: a generation failure, failed moderation and a job past two hours return credits, while a job past ten minutes frees the concurrency slot but, in the docs’ words, does not refund credits.

A worked example: one test clip, and the number that is missing

PixVerse publishes test prompts beside a description of the result, which makes the free-credit question concrete.

Official PixVerse C1 storyboard image with six numbered frames, from a forest cabin and a girl with a glowing butterfly to her boots, a path, and the girl walking away
PixVerse

Example one: the clip PixVerse tested and described

Prompt: Rain-soaked street brawl, fists connecting with impact.
Input: a reference frame of two fighters in a rain-soaked street
Model: c1

The vendor reports a 10-second clip in which the two characters exchanged close-range strikes in the rain, and records what held: on a punch to the jaw, the recipient's head snapped back at a speed that matched the force of the swing. Raindrops scattered off the impact point. It names the failure mode too, occasionally a foot slides on the wet surface in a way that ignores friction.

Example two: the same clip priced on the API ledger

Model: c1
quality: 720p
generate_audio_switch: false

C1 at 720p is 10 credits per second without audio and 13 with, and the vendor’s own worked example prices a 5-second 720p C1 clip at 50 credits, or 65 with audio. Ten seconds at those settings is roughly 100 credits — arithmetic from the card, not a total PixVerse prints. The missing number sits on the other side: how many clips like that a free account gets each day is not published, only that the figure varies.

The paid tiers PixVerse does publish

Only one ledger publishes prices. The API platform lists three memberships with a monthly grant and a reference video count:

MembershipPriceMonthly creditsVideos generated
Essential$10015,000333
Scale$1,500239,2305,316
Business$6,0001,069,50023,766

The footnote is Calculated based on V3.5 Turbo / 540P 5s video, so those counts describe an older, cheaper model rather than V6. Credit packs run from $10 for 1,000 credits to $5,000 for 500,000, and the reference conversion is $1 = 5 videos (v6, 720p, 5s, no audio, with Starter pack) — a plan name that appears nowhere else, which PixVerse has not explained. Upgrading/Downgrading Your Plan is marked Not supporting yet, and custom API plans run through api_business@pixverse.ai. The web subscription’s tier prices and monthly grants are not published anywhere we could open, which is why they are missing from that table. The PixVerse API guide covers keys and endpoints for the paid API route.

Frequently asked questions

Is PixVerse free? Yes, on both sides. The web route gives registered accounts daily free credits, and the API platform has a Free membership with three concurrent requests. Neither allowance has a published number.

Can I use free credits on both the app and the API? No. API memberships are separate from the web membership and API credits cannot be used with the PixVerse Web, so each wallet is topped up on its own.

Is free output safe to use commercially? It depends which ledger produced it. Web output is limited to non-commercial use unless you hold a licence; on the API platform, commercial use is not restricted, though reselling API access needs written consent.

Can I earn credits without paying? Yes, through the creator campaign: 1,000 to 21,000 credits a week for qualifying posts, capped at 100,000 a week. The PixVerse walkthrough shows what to spend the first ones on.

Start free on the side you actually need, and check that wallet’s balance before planning volume.
